AMP Racing, Orange Beach, Al., Allen M. Pierce IV has a verbal agreement with Coastal Motor Sports owned by Bo Wilkenson, of Orange Beach, to drive the Coastal Motor Sports Monte Carlo for the 2008 season. AMP Racing and Coastal have formed a team that will compete for the Super Stock Title at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola. Miles Pierce, the owner of AMP Racing and former NASCAR driver, said
“Allen is ready for the move to asphalt and he gained a tremendous amount of experience racing at Deep South Speedway winning the track championship there.”
As a young driver trying to move up, asphalt is the next logical step. The team purchased a second car originally intended to be a back up car, but after Allen’s testing two weeks ago at Five Flags, it was decided that the new car will be the primary ride. Allen turned in some of the fastest lap times during the test session and according to Bo Wilkenson, “he looked like he had run hundreds of laps here, this is a difficult track to get around fast.”
Allen will make his asphalt debut during the 40th Annual Snowball Derby weekend at Five Flags competing in the GSA Super Stock Derby 75. The Snowball Derby is the biggest short track race of the year in the south. There will be cars from Fl., Al., Ms., Ga., Tn., and the Carolina’s, all competing for the coveted Snowball victory.
Allen raced the #47 Jakes Steakhouse Monte Carlo on the high banked Deep South Speedway in Loxley and won a championship title this summer. He won the last race of the season to secure the 2007 Deep South Speedway Track Championship ending the season with three wins and seven second place finishes. Allen, 19, is a 2006 graduate of Gulf Shores High School and attends Faulkner State Community College.
Allen said, “This is a great opportunity and I’m excited that Bo wanted to put me in his car for 2008, we have two really fast cars for next year.”
Allen’ s sponsors are mostly local business’s, Jakes Steak House, P & R LLC, Chuck’s Transmission, Orange Beach Auto and Marine,
KV Yacht Brokerage, Gulf Coast Hatteras, Dee Dichira, and Gulf Coast Drive Train have all combined to help with the costs of running a local weekly series. “We hope to attract a regional or even a national sponsor.”

“Hard Working Driver Gets Big Chance”
Orange Beach, AL May 29, 2007 - Hard work is paying off for local stock car racer. Allen M. Pierce IV has begun a career that not many people get to attempt. NASCAR is not something that people in Orange Beach AL. get to hear about all the time, but Allen is attempting to make it big and change that.
Allen just recently returned from Lafferty Motorsports, Concord, NC., where he met with NASCAR Craftsman truck team owner, Chris Lafferty and his crew. Lafferty invited Allen to attend a test in late May where his skills would be put to the test in one of Lafferty’ NASCAR Craftsman trucks. This test would take place at the famed Hickory Motor Speedway, which has ironically been dubbed “The Birthplace of NASCAR Stars”.
Allen successfully completed the grueling test, which pushed him not only physically but mentally as well. ”I still have a lot to learn,” Allen says “but Chris is helping me look in the right direction and will help me progress with my skills.” Lafferty Motorsports has invited Allen back to North Carolina to continue testing. “I like Allen a lot, in the amount of time that I had to work with him he has shown a lot of drive to succeed!” Chris Lafferty later added that with hard work Allen will be able to make it with Lafferty Motorsports!
“This is a big deal to me, it means a lot and I’m very excited about my future in racing,” Allen says, “Chris would be a great person to race for, he has worked very hard for everything he has and has pride in what he does on and off the race track. I feel we will work well together and successfully promote a sponsor.”
Allen currently races the #47 Jakes Steakhouse GTO super stock on the high banks at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Alabama and is the current point’s leader. He has two wins and four second place finishes since March. Allen, 19, is a graduate of Gulf Shores High School and attends Faulkner State Community College.
Lafferty Motorsports fields entries in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series as well as the ARCA Remax series. Owner Chris Lafferty, over the years, has been known as one of the best engine builders in NASCAR.
